Digital Distractions Realized

Richtel's 2010 warnings about digital fragmentation have proven prophetic. Constant digital stimulation has indeed rewired human attention, with smartphones driving perpetual interruption. Neuroscience confirms multitasking undermines cognitive function, reducing concentration and deep thinking. Students now scroll instead of read, checking phones nearly 100 times daily. The transformation is real: our brains struggle to focus amid endless content streams. The solution isn't abandoning technology, but cultivating mindful engagement - using digital tools intentionally while preserving our capacity for sustained attention and meaningful connection.
